While adding nematodes (worms) does not pose a threat as long as they are from a healthy environment I have not found that to be a significant control measure. If there have been pets previously using the same area or there is frequent use by some wild mammals there could be intestinal worm exposure. You should be using a internal parasite (worms and heartworms) product for your puppy.
