While liver dog treats, especially the freeze dried liver pieces or cubes, are one of my favorite choices for treats they are not even close to a balanced diet. Feeding a liver based or flavored complete food should be fine. It is important to understand that choosing a food for your puppy should be your choice based on ingredients and price and any puppy will eventually accept your choice if you don't give into urges from your puppy.
