Hello, my 10 week old Maltese Yorkie mix stool has been getting loose over the past two days. We haven't changed dog food or anything and this morning when we got him out of his bed he had pooped all over his blanket and a little on his bed which is rare. He has never pooped on his bedding maybe our kitchen floor or something of that sort. Should I take him into the vet.Category: Common Conditions
If other than the loose stool his attitude and appetite are good then you can start with some simple home care. You can give pepto bismol at 0.5ml per pound of body weight orally 2-3 times a day. If that does not resolve the problem after 2 days then he should be seen. Also has he had any tests on his poop in the past and is he on a monthly parasite control product.
