Teething

April 26, 2021, 6:56 PM

Hi - We signed up for your service through Premier Pups. Our 5 month old Cavapoo puppy is teething. I have been finding his teeth on the floor here and there. He usually loves to eat and all of a sudden since Friday, he isn't wanting to eat as much kibble as he usually does. Does teething affect dog's appetites? I'm not sure I need to take him into the vet or not. Thanks

There are quite a few teeth replaced between 4 and 6 months.  It is not unusual to find them or notice trainsient bleeding from the socket.  If he feels good otherwise and eats soft food you do not need to see your vet.  It is key to recognize whether the hesitancy to eat dry food is actually the teeth and not something else.
