A typical cycle lasts about 3 weeks. The first phase with bloody discharge lasts about 10 days, then there is a pale pink or straw colored discharge for 5-6 days then a creamy white discharge that persists to the end of the cycle. This is the Clean up phase and hence the discharge made up of many white blood cellls. There is considerable variation in color and durations so this is just a typical example.
